The Rotary Club of Gympie is proud to be presenting the prestigious Quilt & Craft Spectacular, now one of the largest quilting/ crafting events in South East Queensland.

The event showcases traditional, contemporary quilts and art quilts, crafted by award winning quilters, professionals and aspiring novices. There’s also stunning artisan exhibits, this year including the works of our amazing guest quilter Michele Hill; a quirky exhibit of weird and wonderful yarnbombing; fabulous felting, creative basketry and embroidery; the ATASDA Qld presentation of Fibre & Textile Arts + an array of workshops, free demonstrations and over 45 diverse quilters/crafters and makers markets!

The Quilt & Craft Spectacular, held in Gympie’s Pavilion, is now under the banner of the Gympie Rotary MAKERS FAIR, which encompasses another 4 venues outside and around the Pavilion. These venues, with over 60 demonstrating makers, focus on heritage, rare and ancient crafts and include: the Heritage Trades venue; the Carbatec Woodcraft Arena; Domestic Art venue, a Vintage Vehicle display and some very special shows – in the Wheelwright Arena, wheelwrighting demos and Clydesdale Country Shows and the Australian Bushcraft Show in the Carbatec Woodcraft Arena!  

So take a moment or two to wander outside and around the Pavilion – and meet over 60 makers of heritage trades and ancient crafts.

The program of exhibitors, shows, demos and traders is now just about complete – with all 5 onsite venues and shows it promises to be a bigger-than-ever event – and all included in the one ticket price of $15pp.

The age-old craft of brewing….

Onsite, take a moment for some R&R – and discover, experience and enjoy new flavours in the age-old craft of brewing at the Craft Beer Open Door, a celebration of craft beer diversity and creativity.

The crew from Sunny Coast brewers “Your Mates” are keen to meet you and introduce you to their craft beer. “Each one of Our Mates represent a different aspect of the Australian outdoor lifestyle. Our Mates Larry, Sally, Eddie, Donnie and Macca have huge personalities”.

With tasting paddles, tasting notes and a range of quality craft brews to try – from gentle to WOW! – the event caters to both the already-devoted lovers of craft brews and those who are curious and want to discover a different style of beer enjoyment.

The Quilt & Craft Spectacular occupies both floors of the Pavilion – the venue is wheelchair friendly and has a lift. There are handicapped toilets.

Wrapped around the outside of the Pavilion, meet over 50 heritage trades artisans in 4 venues: Heritage Trades; Woodcraft Arena; Domestic Arts; the Wheelwright Arena!


BUS GROUPS/ CHARTERS:

Buses welcome, entry can be fast-tracked by groups.

We will be well-dined and well-watered this year with 5 cafes/snackeries at the event:

Upper Floor of the Pavilion – the Imbil CWA Cafe will be offer their award-winning scones and a range of home-cooked treats, platters, cold drinks, wines and beers.

Lower Floor of the Pavilion – the catering crew of Little Haven Palliative Care are back, offering great choices of snacks and substantial gourmet delights, with teas, coffees and cold drinks.

The Hammer & Tongs Cafe, Turf Club Dining Room – hearty country cooking, sit-down and meals on the run – washed down with a cold Craft Beer, wine and cold drinks, the Set4Life girls are raising funds for this great cause, along with the Gympie Freemasons

Domestic Arts (Comets Stadium) – enjoy a selection of coffees, teas, cold drinks and Aussie traditionals, country hospitality on a plate

And don’t forget! There’s snacks to go with craft beer – your choice of subtle to WOW – at the Craft Beer Open Door – experience, discover, enjoy – and meet the crew from Your Mates, brewers, and have a chat!
